Trails in the Mercer Area are in poor condition. The warm weather, sun, and lack of snow are causing the trail system to deteriorate rapidly. Some of the outlying wooded trails are still okay and groomers are out on a limited basis doing what they can with those trails and you will find better conditions north and west of Town heading towards Hurley or the west around the Turtle Flambeau Flowage March 18, 2010- Mercer Sno-Goers "Annual Spring Banquet" at Gateway Lodge.
